as a birth pool company, we get lots of questions about how to have this experience after having a previous C-section and we see many of you achieve it! so here you go ⬇️

1️⃣, ensuring you have a midwife & doula for the best success!!! An OB is a great option if you are higher risk but the hospital system usually doesn’t welcome pools. We want a team who is truly supportive and willing to ride the ups and downs in your journey. who isn’t just VBAC tolerant!!!

2️⃣, research continuous versus intermittent monitoring!! when choosing a HBAC, you are declining continuous monitoring which does carry risk - but also carries trust in your body. @ebbirth has great research on this and it is a BIG decision! ( HBAC = home birth after c-section )

3️⃣, work for it and go all in!!! chiro. pelvic floor. accupuncture. birth education. hypnobirthing. get your partner on board. podcasts. the VBAC Facebook groups. doing the hard work. you can do it!!! and it’s worth it!!!

4️⃣, realize not everyone will have a VBAC and that is okay! the goal is to always keep you all safe, and sometimes plan changes. and sometimes things get hard. do not weigh your value as a parent from your birth experience! be open. be creative. surrender. and put in the work!
